About the Author

Russell Cannings works as a field biologist. In 2011, he and his father set a twenty-four-hour bird record for the province (202 species), and in 2012, Maclean's named him Canada's top birder.

Richard Cannings is a renowned naturalist, conservationist, and bird expert. He is the author of Birds of Interior BC and the Rockies, An Enchantment of Birds, and The Rockies: A Natural History, and is coauthor of Birds of Southwestern British Columbia, Best Places to Bird in British Columbia, and British Columbia: A Natural History. He lives in Penticton, British Columbia.
