Suet for Birds That Won't Cling to a Suet Feeder

Traditional suet cakes and cylinder logs work well for woodpeckers and other birds that cling while they feed, but plenty of backyard regulars, cardinals especially, never touch a hanging suet feeder at all. C&S built these nuggets to solve exactly that: mixed into the seed in a regular seed feeder, cardinals and similar birds get the same nutrient-rich suet benefits without needing to cling to anything.

How to Introduce It to Bluebirds

Bluebirds can take some coaxing onto a new food source. C&S recommends starting with a small amount of nuggets placed on the feeder ledge, then, once the birds discover them, moving the nuggets inside the feeder itself.

Ways to Feed It

• Alone on a platform feeder, or in a nugget/peanut feeder using 1/3" wire mesh
• Blended with 5–10 lbs of your favorite seed mix and fed from a tube or hopper feeder
