Wilt-Pruf Plant Protector is a 1-quart concentrate of natural pine oil emulsion. It's diluted with water and sprayed onto plants as an anti-transpirant, reducing moisture loss through the foliage when plants are under water stress.

How Wilt-Pruf's Coating Protects Plants From Wind and Cold

Once sprayed on, Wilt-Pruf forms a clear coating that shields plants from the cold drying winds of winter and the hot drying winds of summer. It's also used to help tender transplants establish while their roots are developing, and to extend the life of cut Christmas trees and wreaths.

Why One Application Lasts Three to Four Months

The coating wears off in layers rather than all at once. The outer layer gradually breaks down from sun, wind, and rain and powders away, exposing a fresh layer underneath. That process repeats until all the layers are gone, which takes three to four months, and sometimes longer depending on climate.

Mixing Wilt-Pruf for Summer, Winter, and Bulb Storage

The concentrate is diluted at a different ratio depending on the job:

• Summer protection: 1 part concentrate to 10 parts water
• Winter protection: 1 part concentrate to 5 parts water
• Bulb storage: 1 part concentrate to 10 parts water, dipped or sprayed to run-off, then dried in daylight before storing
