Target Salary – $75k to 80k.
Job Summary
We are seeking a results-oriented Logistics Team Leader to support our organizations' product movements. With the main warehouse in Thornhill, another in Buffalo and ten retail locations throughout southern Ontario, the successful Candidate will ensure that all locations have their inventory as required, and that all products sourced both nationally and internationally are shipped on time and in a cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
- Coordinate weekly inventory shipments to ensure consistent supply across all retail locations.
- Manage monthly replenishment shipments from our Buffalo warehouse, overseeing cross-border logistics, customs documentation, and brokerage to ensure timely clearance and delivery.
- Analyze sales patterns across retail locations to determine tailored product allocations based on each store’s best-selling items.
- Oversee physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and discrepancy resolution to maintain accurate stock records.
- Receive, inspect, and log all incoming shipments into our inventory system throughout the week.
Supply Chain Management
- Communicate and negotiate with suppliers in India, China, Vietnam, and other manufacturing hubs (knowledge of a less common language, such as Gujarati, Hindi, or Mandarin, is considered an asset).
- Proactively seek out new suppliers to secure better pricing, improved quality, and reliable delivery timelines.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent product flow and resolve issues quickly.
- Coordinate with trucking companies for timely shipment pickups and deliveries, both domestically and cross-border.
- Monitor and optimize transportation schedules to minimize costs while ensuring timely store replenishment.
- Hold an AZ driver’s license to assist with large deliveries when necessary.
Warehouse Management
- Schedule and assign daily tasks to warehouse staff, ensuring productivity and workflow efficiency.
- Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to warehouse team members.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment, adhering to all Health and Safety regulations.
What you’ll bring
- Progressive experience in inventory and supply chain management. Must have.
- A diploma or degree (or equivalent experience) concentrated in Supply Chain Management or Business. Nice to have.
- Experience collaborating across functions and influencing senior management-level decisions. Nice to have.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills; able to engage and inspire diverse teams and members. Nice to have.
