Why a Soft Nugget Appeals to More Songbirds

Suet nuggets are processed further than a solid suet cake, into a soft nugget that appeals to suet-, insect-, and fruit-eating songbirds. Mixing them into the seed in a standard backyard feeder lets birds that won't cling to a suet cage, cardinals among them, get the benefits of eating suet anyway. Because the nuggets are ready-to-feed, they produce no waste and no mess.

Feeding Methods: Platform, Mesh Feeders, and Seed Blending

The nuggets can be fed alone on a platform feeder, or in a nugget, peanut, or sunflower feeder using 1/3-inch wire mesh. They can also be blended with 5 to 10 pounds of a favorite wild bird seed mix and fed from a tube or hopper-style feeder.
