There is always something special about opening a new Urban Nature Store location. Even after more than 20 years, that feeling of unlocking the doors for the very first time never gets old. Today, I'm thrilled to share that we officially opened the doors to our newest store at 92 Doncaster Road in Thornhill.
Of course, today is just the beginning. Our official Grand Opening celebration will take place as part of a chain-wide celebration on July 11, so stay tuned—we'll be sharing all the details soon, and I hope you'll join us in celebrating.
As I stood in the new store today, I couldn't help but think back to when Urban Nature Store first began over two decades ago. Honestly...where has the time gone? What started as a passion for connecting people with nature has grown into something I could never have imagined. Every new store represents another step in our journey, another opportunity to inspire more people to discover the joy of feeding birds, gardening for wildlife, and bringing nature closer to home.
While opening another location certainly feels like a measure of success, I know without question that none of this would be possible without the incredible people who make up the Urban Nature Store family.
Opening a new store takes an enormous amount of work. There are countless details to coordinate, shelves to stock, displays to build, inventory to organize, and a hundred little jobs that somehow always appear at the last minute. Time and time again, our team steps up without hesitation. Their dedication, commitment, and willingness to take on extra responsibilities never cease to amaze me. They care deeply about what we do, and that passion shines through in every store we open.
To every member of the Urban Nature Store team—thank you. This new store is every bit as much your accomplishment as it is mine.
Most importantly, I want to thank our amazing customers. One of the greatest joys of visiting our stores is seeing familiar faces. Many of you have been shopping with us for years, and over time you've become much more than customers—you've become friends. Whether you're stopping in for bird seed, looking for advice, or simply sharing stories about the latest visitors to your backyard, those conversations are what make Urban Nature Store such a special place.
Your loyalty, encouragement, and support have allowed us to continue growing for more than 20 years. Every new store is built on the trust you've placed in us, and for that, I am truly grateful.
