We are your local birding and nature experts and we are very proud of our Team Members and their connection to the communities we serve. All of our stores are focused on the unique needs of their local community.

We offer a number of full and part-time positions in all our stores.

Store Manager (Full Time – approximately 30 to 40 hours per week)

Assistant Store Manager (Full Time – approximately 25 to 40 hours per week)

Retail Associate (Full and Part Time – approximately 8 to 35 hours per week)

Receiver/Seed Bagger (Part Time – approximately 15 to 30 hours per week)

Warehouse Staff and E-commerce Fulfillment (Full and Part Time – Etobicoke location only)

What we look for in our Team Members:

We are looking for friendly, engaging and helpful Team Members with a can-do attitude. Retail experience is helpful, but many of our team members come from very diverse backgrounds and bring unique experiences and skills which we value. If you are a people person who is good at building relationships with customers, then we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

The major responsibilities of all of our team members are:

  • Ensuring every customer receives outstanding service in a friendly environment, which includes greeting and welcoming each customer, maintaining high standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of outstanding customer service
  • Setting a positive example through effective sales skills and product knowledge
  • Staying up to date on our current promotions and all events on our Marketing Calendar
  • Opening and closing of the store and completion of Beginning of Day and End of Day reports
  • Product merchandising and maintaining a clean, organized store
  • Performing price changes in a timely manner when necessary 
  • Managing deliveries of products and proper inventory rotation
  • Performing physical counts for the purpose of manufacturing accurate inventory
  • Ensuring the accurate completion of all sales transactions and proper cash accountability in the POS register
  • Promoting our Urban Nature Rewards program to new customers
  • Communicating openly and effectively with fellow team members

Qualifications:

  • Your greatest ability are your availability and your reliability 
  • Retail or service experience (pet, birding or garden sector experience is an asset)
  • Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level
  • Basic math skills at it relates to retail sales
  • Intermediate computer skills and comfort with using computers and POS systems
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Open availability to work days, evenings, weekends
  • Have a reliable means of transportation to and from the store
  • An enthusiasm for learning and personal growth
